II. State Personnel Standards

Quality Indicator 3: State personnel standards across disciplines are aligned to national professional organization personnel standards.

Quality Indicator 4: The criteria for state certification, licensure, credentialing and/or endorsement are aligned to state personnel standards and national professional organization personnel standards across disciplines.

 

CSPD Component

There are 13 disciplines that serve young children age birth to age 5 and their families. The Kansas state standards have been aligned with national standards established by discipline-specific professional organizations. Most states mandate that EPPs be accredited. In 2013, the two major accreditation agencies for education programs (NCATE and TEAC) merged to form the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
